Measure each compartment, note airflow and door behaviour, and identify whether the unit is a built-in, column or freestanding configuration.

For a JennAir cooking appliance, separate a cooking problem from a ventilation problem. A burner can work while the downdraft does not, and the installation may include a separate retractable vent with its own maintenance instructions.
JennAir offers downdraft, updraft, undercabinet and custom-hood ventilation. A vent built into a range and a separate retractable downdraft should not be treated as the same product. Tell ABC whether the fan will not start, the retractable unit will not rise or airflow seems weaker during cooking.
A photograph of the cooking surface and vent arrangement helps distinguish these requests. Include whether the problem followed filter cleaning or kitchen work. Keep the vent's own product information if it is separate from the cooktop; a range description alone may leave out the equipment needing attention.
In JennAir's documented retractable-downdraft design, the vent will not operate with the filters removed or incorrectly seated. The filter position operates a safety switch. A stopped fan immediately after cleaning therefore deserves a check of the owner's filter-refitting instructions before a motor is ordered.
With the appliance off, check only the removable filters as directed in your manual. Do not bypass the switch or reach behind the filter assembly. If correctly refitted filters do not restore operation, describe that result when asking about service. Use the instructions for your vent, since integrated range downdrafts have a different filter arrangement.
A longer run does not by itself prove a failed part. JennAir's undercounter wine-cellar guidance explains that a warmer room, frequent opening and adding warm bottles can increase the cooling workload. It also warns against blocking the base grille or enclosing the cellar behind another cabinet door, because that can restrict the required airflow.
Check the visible grille for items placed in front of it, close the door promptly and allow a newly loaded cellar to settle under the conditions in its manual. Turning the setting colder is not a substitute for correcting blocked ventilation. If the storage temperature stays above its normal range despite proper door closure and clear airflow, ask about a repair. Tell ABC whether this is an undercounter model or a full-height column; their controls and installation requirements differ.
